VISIONS IN AUTOMATION – INDUSTRY 4.0

Programme:
Six years ago, German professor and entrepreneur Henning Kagermann introduced the term Industry 4.0, which defines another industrial revolution - the digitization of industrial processes through smart sensors and robotics, creating cyber-physical industrial systems. The main abbreviation describing the new technological trend is most frequently IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things).
Advanced technology solutions that the Industrial Internet of Things offers, extend the performance of production lines, enable better production and maintenance management, reduce labour costs and improve product quality. Key industrial players who continually seek added value and competitive advantage already implement these advanced technologies in their manufacturing plants.
The main categories of activities in this varied scene include:
• predictive maintenance,
• optimization of operations,
• cyber security,
• optimization of logistics,
• robotics,
• intelligent sensors,
• technological platforms.
