Festival celebrating 100 years of Masaryk University

Budova kinokavárny navržená architektem Emilem Králíkem byla vybudována v letech 1927-1928 pro Výstavu soudobé kultury v Brně. Záhy po dokončení byla budova adaptována také pro potřeby divadelního provozu – bylo prohloubeno orchestřiště, zvětšeno jeviště a přistavěny šatny pro herce a sklady dekorací.
V době konání výstavy se v sále pro téměř 800 diváků přes den hrála divadelní představení a večer promítalo kino, především dobové týdeníky a naučné filmy. Přímo z foyer hlavního sálu byla přístupná kavárna s otevřenými terasami, obrácenými do výstavní promenády.
Kino a divadlo v omezené míře fungovalo dál i během třicátých let, kdy zde jako umělecký šéf avantgardního experimentálního Studia krátce působil E. F. Burian a hostovalo pražské Osvobozené divadlo. Za války pak kino promítalo pod názvem Deutsche Lichtspiele.
Budova divadla v současnosti není přístupná veřejnosti, jelikož vyžaduje celkovou rekonstrukci. Její otevření v rámci konání Festivalu MUNI 100 je pro veřejnost výjimečnou příležitostí.
Na brněnském výstavišti stojí od roku 1928 funkcionalistická železobetonová věž s charakteristickým skleněným pláštěm. Je jedinou zachovalou představitelkou rozhleden, které kdysi bývaly běžnou součástí výstavních areálů. Na její vrchol se dostanete po 176 betonových schodech a užijete si výhled z výšky 42 metrů.
Navštívíte-li během festivalu rozhlednu, která je jinak dlouhodobě uzavřena, budete mít vedle výjimečného zážitku také krásný výhled na Brno a široké okolí - Boskovice a Pálavu.
Věž na brněnském výstavišti patří k objektu kavárny a restaurace pavilonu G navrženého architektem Bohumírem Čermákem. Je součástí původní zástavby areálu z let 1926-1928, jehož brány se poprvé otevřely 28. května 1928 při zahájení Jubilejní výstavy československé kultury.
Festival MUNI 100 bude slavnostně zahájen nejvyššími členy vedení univerzity včetně vedení jednotlivých fakult. Nechte se přivítat a pojďte slavit s námi!

To save their failing marriages, some of them decide to choreograph a strip show for women, going all the way.
The ProFIdivadlo student drama ensemble was founded in 1998 as a spontaneous activity within the Faculty of Informatics. Since 2006 students from all faculties can actually take an elective course which consists in the participation in this theatre.

The B-Side Band is one of the most sought-after bands of its kind. It is a multi-genre and independent ensemble which matches with Vojtěch’s persona through its internal energy and crowd interaction. One of its most significant assets is the ability to bring to its listeners a modern and colourful big band sound and engage the crowd. In addition to jazz standards and well-known big band songs they sometimes surprise the audience with swing cover versions of rock and pop songs.
This year’s final fireworks from the programme of the famous IGNIS BRUNENSIS fireworks festival will mark the MUNI 100 celebrations. The “Epilogue” at the Špilberk Castle celebrates the centennial of Masaryk University and Mendel University, as well as the 120th anniversary of Brno University of Technology. These anniversaries, along with “Brno trams”, will represent the key motifs of this year’s epilogue.
