Parking monitoring
At the Transport Research Center we have a vehicle with a special camera system and software that:
- reads and records license plates of parked vehicles day and night,
- distinguishes between three types of parking,
- records the GPS positions of the scanned vehicles, including the time stamp,
- assigns detailed location information based on GPS location to each registered license plate,
- creates a continuous video recording from cameras located on the roof of the vehicle.
The result of the monitoring can be, for example, the detection of the number of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with a license plate containing the letters EL in a specific street. We will help to make the decision-making process about the need for charging stations and their location for the municipality. Another example of the use of a vehicle are surveys of the turnover rate of vehicles parked at hospitals, schools and offices. The output is information on how many vehicles change in the given parking spaces, how long they stay there and how the parking spaces are used.
